I think of this place as not just somewhere to put down what’s on my mind but also as a storage system in some ways.
The structure here reflects how i think and write, it’s not a rigid system. There are four types of content, each serving a different purpose:
Things are quick, fleeting thoughts and observations, moments, small ideas. They’re a bit more stream-like and chronological, the kind of thoughts that might otherwise be lost. They don’t need to become anything bigger; they’re valid as they are.
Stash is where i hold reference material, summaries, building blocks and more. It’s my personal library of things worth keeping such as travel notes, work references, analysis summaries, resource lists. No pressure to publish or refine; it’s just material I want to have available.
Notions though are my ideas in progress, partially exploratory thinkings, half-formed arguments, and even thoughts I’m working through. They may eventually evolve into something more, or they may not. They’re writing-as-thinking, and they’re valid even if they never become finished pieces. This is where I explore ideas a bit more publicly, without the expectation that everything needs to be polished or complete. Some of it will be absolute garbage. Some of it will be comprised of good ideas and writing.
Writings are the longer and more coherent pieces, guides, reflections, arguments. These are largely intended to be complete, even if they’re still forming. They’re what I want to share with others, the things I’ve taken the time to shape and think through.
Each piece also has a “why”; the reason it exists. Some things are to keep, some to remember, some to think through, some to work out, and some to share. This isn’t meant to be about some hierarchy or value. It’s about purpose.
The structure of this place isn’t about efficiency or organisation for its own sake. Rather, it is about creating a space where the different kinds of thinking and writings i do can coexist. Where a quick observation can sit alongside a half-formed idea, and where reference material can live next to more polished and complete writing. It’s about identity over efficiency, about allowing things to exist without forcing them into categories they just don’t fit.
So if you’re browsing and something feels unfinished or exploratory, that’s intentional. This is meant to be an evolving playground, not just a blog. Some things are polished; others are still forming. Both are valid.
